A (Semi)Viral Pantsing

The One Where an Old Photo I Took Is Featured on Art But Make it Sports

On a recent lunch break, I caught this preview of a Snacks podcast (apologies for the Twitter posts only showing up as links because Elon is a petty little jerk):

As Lynn Williams was describing the play, I thought, “Oh, hey, I remember that!”

Not only did I remember the play* but I also had the receipts.

This goes back to the time when I wrote recaps and photographed games (no easy feat when you shoot >1000 per game). The play—and the pantsing—unfolded right in front of me and my camera.

I dug into my archives and found the images that I had processed from the game and posted my Quote Tweet:

Which then got picked up by the Art But Make It Sports account and turned into this:

It’s been up for more than ten days, and I still get activity notifications.

It’s fun to see that, but it also reminds me of how much I miss being behind the camera. My camera and I have been estranged for far too long, and it’s never a good thing when that happens.

So anyway, here’s a GIF of (most of) the play. And, no, I did not process the images of Lynn’s bare booty because…seriously?

*The Play? Lynn Williams managed to ‘meg Ali Krieger and got the ball to Debinha who finished the play by going top shelf, beating Ashlyn Harris. The Courage won the game 3-0.
